Our Partners

Creating a partner event to Common Ground on the Hill was a shared vision of Walt Michael and Pete Heywood. Walt has experienced the warmth of welcome at Scottish festivals many times over the last twenty odd years, and when Pete Heywood attended Common Ground on the Hill they both realised that something special could be created in Scotland. The first practical steps to realising the dream of Common Ground Scotland were taken in 2001 and work is continuing to develop the structure and facilities within which Common Ground can thrive.

The main partners at this point in time are:

Peter Heywood, editor Living Tradition, Director, The Tradition Bearers
Walt Michael
, Executive Director Common Ground on the Hill, McDaniel College, MD, USA.

Kilmarnock College The Glasgow Fiddle Workshop is a sponsor of our fiddle and stringed instrument classes.
