National Steel Guitar

Cruise the Clyde aboard a chartered vintage vessel; visit Lochranza, Tighnabruaich and Port Bannatyne; sample Real Ale in the Port Royal Hotel Russian Tavern . all in the company of Catfish Keith - 'the US steel blues guitar pickin' king'.

Common Ground Scotland is working with 'Captain' Geoff Proven.for one of the most unusual fundraising gigs of all time. Geoff's idea was to get a great performer - Catfish Keith - to come to Scotland for a day out in some style. Geoff has a shared passion for music and sailing and has combined these to produce a wonderful day out cruising on the Firth of Clyde in the company of some extraordinary musicians.

Aboard the MV The Second Snark, you will enjoy a leisurely day's navigation of the Clyde's best scenic islands and kyles. During the cruise we will call at three lovely ports - Isle of Arran's Lochranza, Argyll's Tighnabruaich and Bute's Port Bannatyne. At each port you will be able to go ashore for walkabouts and local entertainments .all in the company of Catfish Keith - 'the US steel blues guitar pickin' king'.

On Bute we will experience Grant's boogie-woogie standup piano spot in the Port Royal Hotel Russian Tavern, a unique treat in itself. Real ale is the house speciality in The Port Royal Hotel which is Argyll & Bute's 'CAMRA pub of the year 2003'.

Tickets are £45 each for a whole day's maritime fun with fantastic music. The cruise will be limited to only 80 places. Advanced booking is essential. Book early, this is sure to sell out.
