Concert with Guy Davis
Guy Davis is a regular tutor at Common Ground on the Hill in America and is keen to attend Common Ground Scotland. However, with a busy schedule including Blues Festivals in Germany and Norway then a tour in the USA with Jethro Tull - the dates became impossible. Guy is treating us to a concert in Ayr in the middle of a busy UK tour. Catch him on this special night and then look forward to seeing him at Common Ground Scotland in 2004. Tickets are £10 each. He's got some Zora Neale Hurston, some Garrison Keillor, and some Laura Davis (his one-hundred-year-old grandmother). He's a musician, composer, actor, director, and writer but most importantly, Guy Davis is a bluesman. He received rave reviews for his performance off-Broadway as the legendary Robert Johnson in Robert Johnson:Trick The Devil. He is the '93 Blues Foundation's W.C. Handy "Keeping the Blues Alive Winner" and has been nominated for three more Handy Awards. Numerous releases on Redhouse Records have cemented Guy's place on the blues circuit. |
