Instructor: Graeme Gass

This photography course will include aspects of musician/artist portraiture and 'action', capturing the mood and movement without necessarily seeking technical brilliance.

Other topics include:

  • framing and composition
  • available light, floodlight and flashlight techniques
  • outdoor subjects, including effects of sunlight, diffused light and shadows on landscape, natural history and 'people' photography
  • 'capturing the moment', hints on anticipation and gauging circumstances to optimise the possibilities of producing better photographs
  • use of equipment, lenses, film types and filters
  • selection and compilation of a series of pictures on different subjects for a photographic display at the latter stages of the week

All levels of experience will be catered for. Participants will preferrably supply their own photographic equipment, but a selection of cameras and lenses will be available for demonstration purposes and for participants use.
